When you are no more in power.........

Of late, we have seen many politicians who used to serve under Dr M suddenly grow a set of brand new gleaming balls! Samy "Toll" Vellu, who used to be one of Dr M's staunchest supporters, did the unthinkable and told his former boss to stay out of MIC's internal politics! Wah, so brave la! He also went on to say that DR M killed of many political careers(Ghafar Baba, Musa Hitam, Anwar) to hang on to power. Now where was this bravado when Dr M was in power? Samy was a top class "Yes-Man" and never had a whiff of "Testicular Fortitude"! By the way Samy, you have held the presidency of MIC for 30 years now(Dr M was PM for 23)! So who is the one hanging on to power???

Same goes for many Umno politicians who are now licking Najib's, and previously, Badawi's balls. All of a sudden Dr M is viewed as anti-establishment and a hindrance to development. What a load of crap! Oh yes, this also apllies to MCA's Ong Ka Ting. Well at least we knew Ong was useless from the beginning and we never really bothered with the MCA anyway!

That's politics for you! When u are in power, you are everyone's favourite. Retire and you are just an old tyre! haha!

Good Joke! Beer drinkers beware!

Got this in the mail today. Farny!!!

A newlywed couple had only been married for two weeks. The husband,
although very much in love, couldn't wait to go out on the town and
party with his old buddies .

So, he said to his new wife, 'Honey, I'll be right back.'

'Where are you going, honey bunch?' asked the wife..

'I'm going to the bar, pretty face. I'm going to have a beer.'

The wife said, 'You want a beer, my love?'

She went and opened the door to the refrigerator and showed him 25
different kinds of beer brands from 12 different countries: Germany ,
Holland , Japan , India ,etc.

The husban d didn't know what to do, and the only thing that he could
think of saying was, 'Yes, lolly pop...but at the bar...you
know...they have frozen glasses...'

He didn't get to finish the sentence, because the wife interrupted him
by saying,

'You want a frozen glass, puppy face?'

She took a huge beer mug out of the freezer, so frozen that she was
getting chills just holding it.

The husband, looking a bit pale, said, 'Yes, tootsie roll, but at the
Bar they have those hors d'oeuvres that are really delicious... I
won't be long, I'll be right back I promise. OK?'

You want hors d'oeuvres, poochi pooh?' She opened the oven and took
out 5 dishes of different hors d'oeuvres: chicken wings, pigs in
blankets, mushroom caps, pork strips, etc.

'But my sweet honey... At the bar... You know...there's swearing,
dirty words and all that...'

'You want dirty words, Dickhead? Drink your fucking beer in your
Goddamn frozen mug and eat your motherfucking snacks, because you are
Married now, and you aren't fucking going anywhere! Got it,
Asshole?'

So he stayed home.............
........and, they lived happily ever after..

Systematic dismantling of PR states?

The grapevine has been busy and loaded recently with all kinds of stories, assumptions and innuendos. Teoh Beng Hock, PR breakdown, PKFZ, Royal Inquiries, How Toyo escapes the MACC and many others. MACC is of course in the forefront for its efficiency in investigating non-BN assemblymen while dragging its lead-laden feet on BN assemblymen. However, there is also talk of there being a plot to systematically dismantle PR-led states.

Perak, or the farce that is Perak, has fallen back to the BN. Are we seeing it now with the Selangor state government? 7 DAP leaders are being investigated for misuse of state funds. Now I am one who is all for a clean govt and those who are guilty must be punished. All I seek is fairplay. My question here is : what happened to the supposed investigation into the 30-something Selangor BN assemblymen who finished their RM500,000 2008 allocation in the 2 months before March 8 2008? Have they been exonarated or is the usual "no concrete evidence" were found excuse used? Would they be given more money if BN had won?

So what now? Will Kedah be next? Or maybe even Penang? Only time will tell.....

Where art thou MCA and MIC?

Over the past few days, the destruction of an abbatoir and Kg Buah Pala have made headlines in all the local news medias. The destruction of the abbatoir has caused the DAP in Kedah to quit the Pakatan Rakyat coalition in the state. Why? Because the state govt led by PAS has ignored the appeals of the DAP to stop the destruction. And the DAP is the only party to have fought for the rights of the abbatoir owners. Not surprisingly one party is missing from all this. That's right. The UMNO's running dogs MCA has kept silent all this time. And they claim they will defend the rights of the Chinese? Where are they now? Hiding behind the coat-tails of their masters? Can't wait for next election to give the MCA the final nail in the coffin for their slow but timely death from the local political scene. They are a disgrace to the chinese community and shd be put to sleep like the pariah dogs they are!

The same goes for Kg Buah Pala. Once again the DAP has been put in a difficult position by the inept previous management of the BN. MIC youth wing advisor S Vell Paari(Better known as Semi Value II) has pushed the blame to the current govt, as usual.

So here we see the modus operandi of the 2 parties who claims to represent the Chinese and the Indians : One keeps absolute silent and the other never takes responsibility. What hope have we left?

Too many books!

I am an avid reader and I just love collecting books, especially at warehouse sales. My motto is always, "Buy first and slowly read them later". Cleared my study today and I realised that there 32 books on my table crying out to be read! Ok babies, will get to you soon! Don't laugh! I am sure there are many out there like me! At least I've read four books this year! How many have you read?

And to some of my frens out there, comics do not qualify as books!

Little words that mean so much!

My godson gave me a T-shirt today that reads :

"Beauty is in the eye of the BEERholder!"

I thot it was really cute and probably a saying that will come out of my mouth each time i have a drinking session now!

Is the MACC for real or just another show?

The MACC(Malaysian Anti Corruption Corporation) has been really active of late. Investigations into the PKFZ, Puspakom and the current MRR2 fiasco. Coffee shop talk of late has been that finally M'sia has an effective anti corruption organisation. Is that really true? Or is it another show put up by our govt?

If one examines clearly, those caught guilty are normally lower ranking officers like those in Puspakom. Are they really the culprits? Or were they sacrificial lambs? Do we really believe that corruption lies only with the lower ranking officers? What about those holding loftier positions like Ministers or Menteri Besars? More often than not investigations into these bigwigs always end with the standard "No concrete evidence" and they walk off scot free. Even with concrete evidence like the Khir "Toyol" fiasco, no investigation has yet to be carried out. Why? Is it b'cos he is beyond the law? Or are there more sinister findings that cannot be revealed? Or maybe the claim that the opposition DAP MP had misused RM2,000 is more significant than a MB using millions to take his family and maids for holidays?

So is MACC for real of for show? To me, it is still a show until they have the guts enuf to prosecute the bigwigs!

Today....

As I sit pondering on a new business venture that I am looking at, a thousand thots flood my mind. Will I meet forecasted sales? Will cashflow be enuf? When do I need extra staff? Where shd office add be? SWOT analysis? Where will funds come from? Etc, etc. Tearing more of the little bits of hair i have off, I try to find solutions. But guess what, I am loving every minute of it!!! I love building new businesses. It gives me a great rush and the intangible benefits obtained once it is up is just amazing. I have set up a few while employed but this is the first time on my own. Hope things work out!

Read in the Star today that our dear old DPM does not know that a pass in English is not required to get your SPM Cert! Oh gosh! And this is coming from our Education Minister! What chance our education system? Further to that, grammar is also not thot in our schools nowadays, just communication English! How is that possible? Communicating without properly formed sentences? "Are u in the well" type? Do u trust your kids in our schools?

Just when we thot that the PR is turning out to be an alternative to the BN, they are now mired in problems among themselves. DAP against PKR, PKR against PAS etc. What's happening? Don't u feel confused with the going-ons in our country's political scene? Frustrated maybe? Or just plain fed-up like me?

And I have this fren who is so mesmerised by old hag Wanker(Oh sorry, Wenger, who is currently in town) that she is starting to drool over him. Gosh, some women are weird! I asked why the old man when there are others like our Benitez around. She claims Benitez is short and round but at least his vitals are working! I doubt Wanker's is(If u know wat I mean, at 59)!!! She says there's always Viagra! Fren, heard of the song, "Dream on, dream away......." And wipe that drool......

Aaahhhh.... let me get back to my work.....

Conspiracy? Maybe.....

I sat in disbelief this morning over the incidents that happen during this morning's champion's league semifinal between Chelsea and Barcelona.

First of all, Michael Essien scored a Zidane-like goal with his weaker foot that screamed into Barca's goal! Essien must be very low on the list of potential Chelsea goalscorers.

Secondly and more amazingly is the performance of the referee. He turned down not one, not two, not three but 5 different appeals by Chelsea for a penalty. Some of the offences were so clear-cut that the referee must have been blind not to see them especially the handball situations. I can fully understand the frustrations of the Chelsea players after the match who felt they had been robbed. It is also a well-known fact that UEFA president Michel Platini is against English domination of Europe. Could he have something to do with the events of this morning? Unseen hands at work? Seem unlikely?

You go explain what happened then......

It's 2-1 to PR

Once again, the rakyat have rejected the BN govt in the "Bukit-Bukit" by-elections. As usual, the BN leaders are coming out with crap statements like "We respect the decision of the rakyat", "This does not reflect the the confidence the rakyat have in the new leadership", "A post mortem will be done to see why the BN can't win the 2 seats" etc. Respect? Confidence in BN? Post mortem? Haven't we heard all this bullshit before? They had 13 months since 8 Mar 2008 and they still need a post mortem? Wake-up BN!!! It is clear the rakyat is rejecting you. Yes a new PM is at the helm but will it be any different? He is still part and parcel of the old machinery. Will Najib be any different? For the sake of our country, I really hope so altho I am not putting my hopes too high.

As for East Malaysia, donno why the BN is still so strong there. Anyone care to explain why the people of East Malaysia have not been taken in by the Tsunami of 8 Mar?

Jose, we miss you!

Haha! You can always count on Jose Mourinho to give an unforgettable quote whenever he gives an interview. When interviewed recently and asked why the Italian press haven't really taken to him, this was his reply :

"Even Jesus Christ wasn't liked by everyone, so what chance do I have?"

You d special one, Jose!

How can leh?

Once again, Malaysian economics and its leaders never ceases to amaze and baffle me! There were 2 incidents over this past week.

Today's Star newspapers reported that EPF dividends for 2008 stood at 4.5%. I thot this is understandable taking into account of the economic situation in the past year. But wait, that's not the end. This is on the back of EPF's highest ever earning of RM20bil in gross income last year, an increase of 9.36% from 2007! What the hell??? Why did dividends go down? Its chairman said that this is because of a sharp decline in equity markets and a large provision has to be made! I m no economic whiz but can someone tell me what's happening? If the economy picks up in the 2nd half of the year and share markets rise, will this provision be taken out and dividends increased?

The other story is with regard to our sports minister Azalina Othman. She went to see the PM last week accompanied by her father. When asked by the reporters why, this is her answer,

"I am not married. I can't be walking alone right? Being a Muslim woman, the right person to accompany a single woman would be the father."

What??? You mean all single muslim women can't walk alone? I find this comment stupid, moronic, imbecilic, daft and just plain ignorant! And these are words from our ministers!

On another baffling story, how is it that in a span of 5 days, Liverpool can play like they are from another planet and thrash 2 of the biggest teams in the world? I am just as shocked as all Liverpool fans I suppose. Shocked but delighted. I just wish they won't go on and draw with the likes of Stoke, Fulham etc again!

This is a baffling world!

I've conquered Mt Kinabalu!

I made it!!! Reached the top of Mt Kinabalu(Low's Peak to be exact) at 6.05am on 1 Mar 2009 with my wife and two other friends! It was an amazing experience and the view was fantastic! It was exhilarating to be able to set foot on the tallest mountain in southeast asia. The cold aside(2 degreee celsius!), we were high-fiving and slapping each other's backs, including those of the people we don't know!

Before I go any further, I would like to dispel many doubts abt the climb :

a)You don't have to be super-fit or very fit for that matter. The guides told us that normally women find it much easier to climb than the guys. The same happened to us as I was huffing and puffing while my wife was walking up at a canter(And she does not exercise often!). Willpower is just as important!

b)The most important equipments to have are a walking stick(Absolutely necessary), a raincoat, proper walking shoes and proper clothing! I am emphasising all these based on my own experience. All the rest are secondary.

c)Descending is just as challenging as ascending the mountain. This is mainly b'cos fatigue starts to play a role and you have to be extra careful negotiating slippery rocks especially when it is raining.

d)Medication like Diamox(Altitude sickness) and Celebrex(Painkillers) are advised to be taken.

It took us 8 hours to get to the top(5 hours to Laban Rata and 3 hours to the summit). The climb towards the top was quite treacherous near the 5-6km mark. Height of mountain is about 8km. It was drizzling but not heavy enough to stop us from ascending to the top. The rocks were slippery and we had to be very careful. It took another 8 hours to get down. Why the same amt of time as going down shd be much easier rite? When you are going down, your calfs and thighs start to ache and you tend to stop more often to rest. For us the last 2 kilometers was hell! But we made it!!!

The one bad experience from this trip is the aching muscles! It got so bad that we even had trouble getting up from chairs and walking straight! We were walking like crabs! Such a pretty sight!

A sign in Kinabalu Park says :

Take Nothing But Photographs
Leave Nothing But Footprints
Keep Nothing But Memories

Yes, I have a million unforgettable memories now!

It's time!

3 more days and I'll be on my way to climb Mt Kinabalu! Getting excited but am also being hopeful at the same time. Hopeful that the muscles, knees and ankles will hold up for the trip up and down as well. Hoping also that I will not suffer from Altitude sickness which has caused many to turn back. Have done all the preparations I can, which is not much really! Haha! What the heck! I am going for adventure and fun so I really must stop worrying!

Mt Kinabalu, here I come!

What would you do? Any business ideas?

I was asked recently by a very good friend of mine this question, "If I was handed one million ringgit to start a business in the current economic climate, what business would I do?". I laughed and said that no one in their right minds would want to start a business now. To which he retorted that every cloud has a silver lining. For eg rents are cheaper, suppliers are more flexible when negotiating prices and most of all, if you have cash then you are king!

I still looked at him doubtfully, so he threw me this challenge : If I could find a business which he feels will work, he will fund it! I was sceptical of this challenge but he said he was dead serious abt it. So I went home thinking what I could do, you know, just in case he really was serious!!! I thot and thot but I still couldn't come up with an answer. He called me 3 days later to see if I had any ideas and I still hadn't any. He told me to take my time, do some research, talk to friends and get back to him when I have an idea. Anyone out there with ideas???

Life sucks but we get on with it!

I m sure everyone goes thru some very difficult periods in their life. I guess I went thru mine for the last two weeks for something that happened in my office. I was so mentally stressed and distraught that I hardly slept and have lost a total of 3kgs! Hope I can maintain current weight tho! Most would have noticed I have not been blogging of late and it is due to this incident. But I am now back and would like to get back on the blogosphere!

BN's loss in the KT by-election must be a big slap in the face for our PM-in-waiting Najib. Here he was leading the BN election machinery and yet they still lost. That doesn't augur too well for Najib, doesn't it? It just goes to show that since 8 Mar, the BN has done nothing to convince voters that they shd remain in power. The BN must be keeping their fingers crossed that there will be no more by-elections as they have lost every single one!

On the football scene, I find it amazing that someone would fork out the GDP of a small nation for one single football player. Of course I am talking abt the ludicrous offer Man City made for Kaka. AC Milan supporters have protested the supposed consideration of the Milan board for the sale. Here's what I have to say to Milan supporters : Take the 100million or so and buy an entire new defence plus another player in the class of Kaka! I m sure u'll be back in the Champs league next season!

The hot topic in the world now is Israel's continued bombardment of the Gaza Strip supposedly to get at Hamas "Terrorist" groups. Now I don care who you are, what you believe in or what religion you are from but killing children and innocent civilians is a definite NO! How do you justify bombing a school full of children just because you "Suspect" terrorists are hiding there? Is there solid evidence? Is Israel going to be tried for manslaughter? Definitely not as they have big brother, the US supporting them and no one in the UN security council has the balls to go against them. It just makes me sick to the stomach to see pics of kids killed or maimed daily. For goodness sakes, stop this slaughter!

Lastly, to all my family, relatives, friends and bloggers ou there :

HAPPY CHINESE NEW YEAR!!!
