Is there a difference?

Been reading quite a bit abt our country's politics and as usual, it is one big circus. Don wan to comment on that but would like to write about whether there has been a noticeable difference in states taken over by the Pakatan Rakyat, things that politicians ARE elected to do!

It has been more than 6 months now since the elections. It might be a short time period but some bloggers have mentioned that there has been a difference in their constituencies. I am staying in Pusat Bandar Puchong and so far I have not noticed any changes. But some in Bangsar and other states have said streets are now cleaner, more basic amenities have been provided and many new projects are in the pipeline. Friends from Penang too have been telling me that the PR reps are more easily accessible than the BN reps. Selangor has free water. So do u think the PR is doing a good job? Personally, I think for the 6 months period, they have been doing a pretty good job.

A good friend of mine has started a drive to get more people to register as voters as he anticipates that there will be a snap election sometime soon(Shd DSAI manage to get BN MPs to crossover). I don't know if that will happen, but if it does, then we shd all practice our democratic rights and let the Powers-To-Be know that the rakyat is not interested in their political mud-slinging and dramas. All we want is equal opportunities and a decent life. So go get registered in any Post Office and wait for the next interesting episode in this drama called "Malaysian politics!"

There is another change, where emails are flying around regrads to Selangor. The state Govt are giving out RM3500 for Selangor folks whose parents above 60 pass away, to help out the children. The information can be located at the Sgor state govt website. Effective Oct 2008.

Well, it might not be applicable for everyone, but I guess those who needs it will ease the burden a bit....

TS Khalid rocks man. 2 wheelchair-bound counsilors in a matter of 100 days. why the hell not our mb rocks? think toyo, or even every mbs in the country for that matter...are they caring enough for the marginalised group? i doubt. the newly-appointed mbs esp, only chase for the power and money. whereelse TS Khalid has all that all along even before he became a politician. you can easily differentiate between these 2 types of mbs.

VS : Is it true? Thanks for the info anyway. I heard there is also a "Caruman Takaful Warga Emas" where residents above 60 yrs old who have resided for at least one year in Selangor is entitled to a one-off RM1,500 payment. Go Selangor!

Kerp : Great to see that the OKUs are being given due recognition. I think it is long overdue. So when u running for office?

Toyo is one of the biggest crooks around. The stories you hear of his greed are amazing. Good riddance to bad rubbish I say.

So, I guess both of you are all for the new Govt then!
